Callum brings a wealth of compressed air expertise to the PPS team. His career began with a multiskilled mechanical maintenance apprenticeship at a local Hull company at the age of 18. Since then, he has remained in the compressed air industry, holding engineering positions at other renowned companies in the industry.
His experience spans across various aspects of the industry, from workshop and on-site maintenance work of air compressors and refrigeration, pipework, electrics and even energy audits and sales. His well-rounded background makes him a valuable asset to our PPS Hull (Norman Walker) service department.
“My role is to manage the PPS Hull (Norman Walker) service department. It’s a mix of office based work and getting out to customer sites, while always focusing on ensuring the department and processes run smoothly and effectively.
“Since my background included a lot of hands-on work, I still like to go out with the engineers occasionally, giving them support from my experience in the industry.
“Over the last year it’s been great getting out and getting to know the PPS Hull (Norman Walker) customer base, but alongside this I know my focus in the office has helped and strengthened the service team too.”
“The most rewarding part is probably the strong team environment I get to be part of. We’re a small team at PPS Hull but everybody is always prepared to help each other out and collaborate. This is especially important as things are very busy, so teamwork is essential to work effectively. This has been a nice transition from previously being out on the roads a lot by myself in other roles.”
“I enjoy camping and like to spend any free weekends exploring new places with my tent box. I also spend time motorbiking most weekends. I have recently picked up paddleboarding, which I’m still figuring out but so far, I’m enjoying that a lot.”
