Metal Fabrication

Metal fabrication is the process of cutting, burning, welding, bending, forming, shaping and processing metal to transform a raw material into a component part or finished product. Different items require different levels of processing but laser cutting, CNC machining or additive manufacturing may play a part.

Compressed air for CNC machining, nitrogen generation for laser cutting or oxygen generation for casting, PPS have a solution to suit your needs.

On-site nitrogen generation is a cost-effective way to take control of your nitrogen supply and reduce your carbon footprint and the handling risks associated with a bottled or liquid supply. With an on-site nitrogen generator from Atlas Copco, you can produce a reliable supply of nitrogen by using membrane or pressure swing absorption (PSA) technology to remove oxygen from compressed air leaving nitrogen with a purity of up to 99.999%. The systems can be designed to supply on-demand or use storage vessels to smooth out peaks in demand. Reduced costs and the elimination of boil off losses are key drivers in the industry moving from liquid supply to on-site generation.

Case study:

Alco Valves save energy with a payback term of just seven months

After taking stock of the factory equipment that ran on a large motor, Andrew Walton (Operations Manager) came to the conclusion that the most inefficient piece of equipment was the air compressor.
