Pennine Pneumatic Services Ltd (PPS) has appointed Nigel Smith as their new Commercial Director. Joining the team on the 3rd of July, this is a new position within the UK’s biggest Atlas Copco Authorised Distributor. The position has been created to bolster the PPS senior leadership team as they continue to drive the business through a period of dramatic growth.
“Starting this role at PPS feels like a natural step for me as my values align with those already embedded in the PPS culture, earning the trust of others through integrity, valuing people and delivering outstanding customer service.
“Within the role I will be working alongside Ian Harrison (PPS Managing Director) and Matt O’Connor (PPS Operations Director) to support all of the wider PPS team to exceed customer expectations.
“Part of my remit is to help PPS continue to grow through both organic methods and acquisition, a strategy that has been working well for them in the last five years, adding companies to the group that share the same vision and values.
“At PPS though it is about more than just the numbers. My role will also involve rolling out best practice and driving every local team to be the primary compressed air contractor in their area. This means delivering outstanding customer service and expanding our competencies where we need to.
“Sustainability will also be a key driver as my role develops, ensuring we can deliver value responsibly for our customers, and be part of an evolving supply chain that is helping facilitate the change to net zero in the industrial environment.” Nigel Smith, Commercial Director.
Ian Harrison commented, “Nigel joining PPS is a massive boost for our team. He has a lifetime of experience in the compressed air industry and his focus on service, sales and marketing will be invaluable to the team.
