Compcon is based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, just off the A38, close to junction 28 of the M1. Located between Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby, we are ideally placed to service companies across the Midlands.
Founded in 2009, by Dave Beer and Andy Connors (now retired), who had known each other all their working lives, Compcon has been built from the ground up into a leading compressed air company in the Midlands.
The key to the company’s success has been dealing with customers on a personal level and establishing long-term relationships based on engineering expertise and customer service. Compcon is also well-stocked and well-equipped, with plenty of machinery available and a flexible approach to providing what customers need.
Services provided by Compcon
An Atlas Copco Authorised Distributor, Compcon supplies and installs market leading energy efficient air compressor solutions. Models available include oil-injected and oil-free stationary air compressors, as well as portable air compressors.
Compcon have an extensive range of state-of-the-art Atlas Copco vacuum pumps available to suit your operating needs. This includes oil lubricated/sealed and oil-free machines (including Class 0 oil-free) and the latest Variable Speed Drive models (VSD and VSD+).
Air compressor output can deteriorate by more than 10% without proper maintenance. Compcon offer full-service support on compressors and ancillary equipment.

If you do need emergency repairs, our engineers are on hand 24/7, 365 days a year to deal with breakdowns – whether or not you are already a Compcon customer.

The Compcon Team
Dave Beer – company Director Dave started in compressed air in 1985 as an apprentice service engineer then became self-employed in 1989 and set up Compressor Services in Ilkeston. As Atlas Copco distributors, the company grew until it was sold in 2003 to a major international compressor service organisation. Dave then founded Compcon in 2009. With a wealth of engineering experience and knowledge, he is also a qualified “competent person” for receiver testing and written schemes of inspection.
Mark Brooks – General Manager Mark joined in 2018 and now runs the office and all of the admin. As well as running the parts department at Dave’s previous firm and for the garage trade, Mark has been a general manager in the motor trade and a training instructor nationwide for Toyota. Service director at another compressor firm.
Andy Slingsby – Senior Service Engineer Andy has been in the trade since 1984 and joined Compcon in 2012. He has worked with a variety of distributors and is factory trained on a wide variety of compressor brands.
Josh Cummings – Service Installation Engineer Josh has been with the business since 2012, when he started as an apprentice.
Adrian Hillier – Service Engineer Adrian has been in the trade 30+ years and started with the company in September 2021. He has worked with Dave at his previous firm and for various other compressor firms, and is factory trained on a range of different machinery.
