The expansion adds a local presence for PPS customers increasing service levels and giving them easy access to our sales counter for critical spare parts. Five local people are employed in the depot and we have plans for future development and further employment opportunities. The new premises has created a promotion opportunity for Andy Kershaw who will now take on the additional responsibility of branch manager.
Andy Kershaw said, “I’m looking forward to taking on the challenge of increasing our presence in the Greater Manchester region by working with Atlas Copco to further increase our local customer service satisfaction levels. Being in closer proximity to our customers means we can provide a more efficient local response to our customers’ needs. Downtime is costly and when things go wrong we can give a faster response, by being closer at hand, getting manufacturing businesses up and running at a quicker rate and reducing their potential loss of earnings.”
Ian Harrison, managing director PPS said, “We’re pleased to give Andy this well deserved new opportunity and we’re confident his presence in Manchester along with the rest of his team will provide the level of service we already provide to our local customers in Yorkshire. Greater Manchester is an area where there is a high demand with many manufacturing businesses in the area that need our support. As a community business we are always looking to grow local and support local and we believe that this is an area that will benefit from our presence.
“Like our move to Brighouse back in 2017 we plan to create jobs for the surrounding community and work with local charities and sports teams. We work to support a better future for the neighbourhood whether through employment, apprenticeships or charity involvement. This latest move to Greater Manchester will be the fourth time we have supported a community with our local presence.”
